Heyy, my name is Adam Nugraha from XI MIA 3. Today I want show you about opinion and thought. Let’s start with opinion



A.   Opinion
What is opinion? Opinion is a view or judgment formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge. We can asking and giving opinion about everyting,to our friends, parents, teacher and to everyone, but how? 

ASKING OPINION
I’ll give you some example about asking opinion, we can use…
- What do you think?             - Do you have any comment?
- What is your opinion?          - How was your reaction?
- What about…..?                    - How is it going?
- How about……?
- How do you like?                    

GIVING OPINION
We also can give our opinion to others, we can use the sentence below
-       In my opinion…
-       I think……
-       I feel…….
-       Honestly…….
-       In my view……
-       We had better…..

AGREE AND DISAGREEING OPINION
Agreeing
- That’s a good point.
- I think so too.
- I couldn’t agree more.
- I agree with what you are saying.
- I agree, I never thought of that.
- Neither do I.

Disagreeing
- I disagree with you.
- I think you are wrong.
- That’s not the same thing at all.
- I am not sure I agree with you.
- I don’t agree with you.
- I am afraid I have to disagree with you.
- It is not justified to say so.

Dialogue
Opinion

Adam : Fadli, have you ever seen Niagara Falls in Canada?
Fadli : Yes, why?
Adam : What do you thinkabout that?
Fadli : In my opinion, it looks wonderful, the water flows endlessly and it’s very comfortable to see
Adam : You’re right, it is very wonderful and very clean, there is no trash there
Fadli : Ya, I hope I can visit Niagara Falls at least once more
Adam : Same here, I really want to go there once more



B.    Thought

Thought is an idea or opinion produced by thinking, or occurring suddenly in the mind. For example "Maggie had a sudden thought"
Though at the Beginning of Sentence:
adverbial clause (though + S + V +/- ...) +, + main clause (S + V +/- ...)

Thoughts at the End of Sentences:
main clause (S + V +/- ...) + adverbial clause (though + S + V +/- ...)

Examples of Using Thought in Simple Past Tense
1. I Thought I would never meet you again.
2. I thought He sent a letter last morning. 
3. My mother tought I cooked fried rice for dinner. 
4. I thought They were at the school library yesterdat aftenoon. 
5. He thought I was arrived last night at home. 

Examples of using Though In Perfect Tense
1.     I thought I’ve seen this movie already
2.    They thought we we’re failed
3.    She has thought about getting much money when she only worked as a waiter.

Thought

Fadli  : Good morning Adam 
Adam : Good morning
Fadli : I heard you already do license test, how it’s going?
Adam : I doing all the test perfectly, thanks for asking
Fadli : How about the service?
Adam : Man, I thought it’ll be fast but I spend 7 hours in that building
Fadli : Really? Glad you are doing that perfect
Adam : Yeah, I don’t want to restart the test, it would be take my time all day long
